Student engagement is one of the greatest challenges facing education today. Across early childhood, primary, and secondary settings, teachers are seeing the same concerning patterns: declining curiosity, reduced motivation, rising anxiety, increased behavioural complexity, and growing teacher burnout.

In this powerful presentation, Dr. Gordon Neufeld offers a developmental lens for understanding what is happening to today’s learners and why so many students are becoming harder to reach. He will introduce a two-phase model of student engagement that reveals the hidden conditions needed for curiosity, motivation, resilience, and meaningful learning to emerge.
